Whilst P&I policies do cover crew related liabilities, they do not extend to provide cover for crew benefits. However, a Crew Personal Accident (PA) policy offers additional protection to shipowners when it comes to crew injuries, death or disabilities.

As a specialist marine insurance broker, we provide our clients Crew Personal Accident insurance policies that are specifically tailored to the unique requirements and potential hazards faced by the crew and officers of a vessel.

A Crew Personal Accident policy provides, amongst others, financial support to the crew members or their dependants in the event of an accident or injury while on duty. The crew Personal Accident policy usually pays out a lumpsum benefit, which can be used to cover medical expenses and/ or lost income, whilst it can be extended to include cover for the continued payment of wages following an injury or sickness.
